Port Elizabeth, Nelson Mandela Bay is a beautiful coastal town of South Africa where the Nelson Mandela University lays its foundation. With a total of 6 campuses the university is the largest international university in the Southern Cape with our main campus in the heart of a nature reserve.

The Nelson Mandela University, born from the merger between the University of Port Elizabeth, the Port Elizabeth Technikon and Vista University, offers students the best theory and practice from entry certificate level right through to doctoral research. Nelson Mandela University is the biggest tertiary institution in the Eastern Cape Province, with over 25 000 students enrolled on six different campuses.

Office for International Education

The Office for International Education assists international visitors and students with information on travel, visas and academic studies. It retains the resources of 20 staff members as well as a number of student assistants and interns, and endeavours to make your settling and adjustment period as easy and painless as possible.

We offer a range of services including: admissions, arrival and orientation, accommodation, events and excursions for our Degree Seeking, Study Abroad & Exchange, Short Programmes (Summer School) and English Skills Programmes.

We also act as your home away from home by assisting students with lost passports, and the renewal of study visas, as well as information on issues or questions that will ensure that your stay at the university is enjoyable and safe.
