In aid of Africa Day on Saturday 25 May, Nelson Mandela University commemorated the African Continent for an entire week leading up to Africa Day! From 20-24 May, various Africa-focused activities were taking place at different Nelson Mandela University Campuses, organised by the Office for International Education (OIE), the Arts, Culture and Heritage Department and the Centre for the Advancement of Non-Racialism and Democracy (CANRAD).

The Office for International Education recently hosted Ms Emilia Larach from the Northeastern University in Boston, United States of America (USA) on the Nelson Mandela University’s South Campus on 9 May.

Ms Larach is the Study Abroad Advisor at their Global Experience Office and incorporated a short visit to Nelson Mandela University during her visit to South Africa, in an attempt to explore potential partnerships with South African Universities. Northeastern University is looking to expand on their current offerings in South Africa and according to Ms Larach, they have identified Nelson Mandela University as an attractive institution, as its programmes appear to have great opportunities for their students.
