The Office for International Education (OIE) of Nelson Mandela University welcomed 19 students from Tromso University –the Arctic University of Norway on 27 and 28 January as part of an annual month-long Education short programme.

On 16 March 2018, Nelson Mandela University’s Office for International Education hosted a talk about the foreign policy of the United States under the presidency of Donald Trump. The speaker was Gary Prevost, Emeritus Professor of Political Science at College of St. Benedict and St. John's University, Minnesota, United States. Professor Prevost is also a research associate at Nelson Mandela University’s Department of Political and Conflict Studies.

The Office for International Education (OIE) at Nelson Mandela University always takes pride in hosting international visitors from Partner Universities abroad. This was most certainly the case when the Senior Director of the OIE, Dr Nico Jooste, was approached in 2017 by Botswana International University of Science and Technology’s (BIUST) International Student Office in requesting assistance and guidance in setting up their own policies and procedures in their newly established International Education office.

The Office for International Education of Nelson Mandela University recently hosted two international visitors from the University of Applied Sciences and Arts, Fachhochschule (FH) Dortmund in Germany on Friday, 23 February. Ms Elke Meinert works for the International Office at the Faculty of Business and Ms Pia Becker is the Course Manager for International Business at their University.
