Do all International applicants have to pay an Application Fee.

Yes, a R500 Application Fee must be submitted with your online application in order for this to be processed.  Please note this non-refundable.

When is the Application Fee waived.

Application Fees are not applicable to Nelson Mandela University International students who continue their studies consecutively.

Why are Deposit Payments required.

A R4000 Non-refundable Acceptance of Offer is payable in order to confirm your placement. This will be allocated towards your tuition upon registration.

If I do not pay the Acceptance of Offer by the required date. 

Email intfees@mandela.ac.za in order to confirm if your offer is still available.  Please note the full fees are payable prior to registration.

 

6.

Are there any scholarships or bursaries available for undergraduate international students?

Mandela University does not award Bursaries to Undergraduate international students.

 

International students are encouraged to apply for bursaries from sources outside the Mandela University.

 

 

7.

Are there any scholarships or bursaries available for postgraduate international students?

Postgraduate students may access information from the following website in order to apply for bursary administered by the Mandela University:

How can I obtain an Estimation of Fees?

New Accepted Students: All new accepted students are sent an Estimation of Fees with their Letter of Acceptance.

 

Continuing Students:

Please email this to intfees@mandela.ac so we can include the Foreign Admin/Foreign Tuition/M&D Fees where necessary.

Can tuition fees be paid in instalments?

All international students are required to pay their fees in full prior to registration.

 

Students may apply to pay fees Per Semester or Per Guardian Arrangement.

 

Please email intfees@mandela.ac.za to see if you qualify for such arrangements.

How do I pay my tuition fees?

How do I obtian financial clearence for registration?

In order to proceed with online registration, please email intfees@mandela.ac.za the following documents, in order that we may give you financial clearance.

 

  1. Estimation of Fees
  2. Proof of payment / sponsorship letter

How do I open a South African Bank account?

All international students must be registered before opening a SA Bank account and require the following documents:

1) Proof of Registration

2) Passport

3) Proof of Residence

   3.1) Private Accommodation – Copy of Lease            Agreement

    3.2) On Campus / Accredited Accommodation: In order to obtain a Proof of Residence letter,

email intfees@mandela.ac.za the following:

 

a) Student number

b) Full Name on passport

c) Passport Number

d) Full address

 

International students are encouraged to apply for bursaries from sources outside the Mandela University.

Where can I obtain a Proof of Residence letter for the following:

  1. Open a bank account
  2. Purchase a Sim card.
  3. Obtain Forex from Western Union.
  4. Obtain a SARS Number.

All international students must be registered before obtaining a Proof Of Residence letter. Please email intfees@mandela.ac.za the following:

  1. Student number
  2. Full Name on passport
  3. Passport Number
  4. Full address

How do I obtain a refund?

You need to have a credit balance on your student account in order to obtain a refund. Email intfees@mandela.ac.za in order that we may assist you with one of the following options:

 

  1. EFT from your Student account to your SA Bank Account. (3 days)
  2. TT from your Student account to a Foreign Bank account. ( 4 - 6 Weeks)
