This webinar will celebrate Africa Week by delving into recent political developments on the African continent. The buzz around Africa and its developmental potential remains a huge continental and global talking point. While a number of African countries have seen peaceful elections over the years, some countries have experienced electoral violence, the dissolution of presidential term limits, and the descent toward hybrid regimes. This talk will attempt to provide a prognosis on a few of the upcoming elections and discuss the prospects of democratic consolidation on the continent.

This event is organised by the Department of History and Political Studies and Mandela International Office.
