The qualifications obtained at the Nelson Mandela University are verified by two verification companies.

This includes qualifications obtained at the former University of Port Elizabeth (UPE), Port Elizabeth Technikon (PET) and Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University.

Procedure to obtain syllabi from student records department:

  1. An approved fee of R520 per request is payable. This is irrespective of the number of modules passed and will include an academic record.
  2. Completed requests for syllabi are emailed (PDF file) and hard copies are couriered or collected.
  3. Additional charges for the courier service:
    • R60 National
    • R150 International
  4. Your request must contain the following information:
    • Your full name, surname and student number(s)
    • Copy of the proof of payment (must be clear and legible)
    • Copy of your Identification Document and/ or Passport and contact details
    • Clearly indicate any special requests related to delivery and provide details
    • A letter of consent will be required if applying on behalf of a student
  5. Requests for syllabi are processed on a first come and first serve basis and may take an average of four (4) working weeks to complete unless otherwise indicated.

Procedure to obtain an academic record from student records department:

  1. The approved fee structure for an academic record is:
  • R20 per record at service counter (payment made at Nelson Mandela University cashiers)
  • R30 per record to be forwarded electronically (proof of payment and identification required)
  • Additional charges when requesting courier services:
    • R60 National
    • R150 International
  1. Your email should contain the following:
  • Scanned copy of the deposit slip or proof of payment
    • The copy must be clear and legible
  • Your full name & surname and student number(s)
  • Copy of your Identification Document or Passport
  • Your contact details
  • Clearly indicate any special requests related to delivery and provide details
  • A letter of consent will be required if applying on behalf of a student

  2. The Nelson Mandela University accepts no responsibility for the incorrect allocation of payments received without valid student numbers. It is the responsibility of the student to verify the student number and the amount paid.
  3. It remains the student’s responsibility to ensure that sufficient time is allowed for the payment to reach the Nelson Mandela University. Direct bank deposits and electronic payments may take up to 4 working days to reflect on Nelson Mandela University bank account. Records will only be supplied after the payment reflects on the students account. International transactions may take longer than 4 days.
