Office for International Education

The Office for International Education at Nelson Mandela University believes that education is a strong and powerful tool, and so does one of the groups they received for a short program. Bellarmine University from Kentucky in the United States of America (USA), sent a 10 member group of students and faculty for a 3 week short programme at Nelson Mandela University that has commenced on 24 May 2017.

Nelson Mandela University hosted a Swiss delegation consisting of two Swiss Embassy Representatives in South Africa and the Vice President of the University of Basel in Switzerland on Monday, 12 June.


The Swiss Embassy staff started off their day in Port Elizabeth by setting up an information booth on the South Campus during the day to promote the Swiss Scholarship programme and Swiss Universities in general who will specifically target PhD, Post Doc and Research Projects.

Nelson Mandela Metropolitan University’s Department of Arts, Culture and Heritage, Centre for the Advancement of Non-Racialism and Democracy (CANRAD) and Office for International Education (OIE) in conjunction with several faculties and student societies, have created a week-long Africa-inspired programme in an effort to educate, motivate and inspire staff, students and the general public about Africa’s rich history and fruitful future.
